"Having recently moved to the Beaufort area, I am always looking for ways to participate in my new community. I have moved several times in the last few years and bring a part of each location with me as I begin my new life.
"I am a self-taught artist with a life-long love of the process of art—the transformation of an idea into a tangible object of art. As a result I work in many media including watercolor, oil and acrylic, and clay sculpture. My work travels from very detailed illustrations of nature to comical representations of animals and people.
"I have enjoyed painting murals in private homes, and my watercolor paintings are in private collections across the country. I owned a frame shop and art gallery in Washington state. I have won awards in several Maryland waterfowl decoy art shows as well as many other art awards over the past 20 years—my first award was for a sculpture done when I was 13. I was bitten by the art bug then and I've been creating ever since."
